| Emile Minnie goes French with new album |
| |
Emile Minnie and his band will be launching the traditionally Afrikaans artist’s new French album ‘Chanson’ at the Alma Cafe, Alma Rd in Rosebank on Sunday March 7 at 7pm.
Afrikaans superstar singer Laurika Rauch has described Minnie as one of SA’s best songwriters. She recently recorded three of his songs on her latest album. The artist has been a critical favourite of reviewers for a long time and has a loyal fan base among enthusiasts of Afrikaans music. ‘Chanson’ is set extend his appeal further beyond just the Afrikaans music market.
With the new French album, Minnie is breathing new life into old favourites like ‘La vie en rose’ and ‘Je ne regrette rien’. Audiences should expect to experience the charm of the French chanson, presented with Minnie’s typical energy and style and fleshed out by a full band sound.
