This week, fans of The Hog Hoggidy Hogs can catch them and Joburg punk-ska rivals Fuzigish at Mercury live (43 De Villiers Street, Zonnebloem) on Friday October 22.
This should be a night to remember and that will no doubt hold a few musical surprises, as the Hogs rip the stage with their trademark crazed high energy and give Fuzigish a run for their money.

For something a little quieter, those looking for the perfect spot for a Friday night dinner date should know that the Constantia Nek restaurant (1 Hout Bay Road, Constantia Nek) is featuring a new jazz band.

On Saturday, arguably Cape Town’s premier live music venue, The Assembly (Harrington Street, District Six), presents a night of blues rock with The Revelators, The Wild Eyes and The Pretty Blue Guns.
Those of you who aren’t familiar with The Revelators, they are a three piece, garage punk with a little-blues-for-good-measure band who’s raw, stripped down sound is fast piling on the fans.
The band features Johnny Tex (vocals & guitar), Heino Retief (bass) and Daniel Ackerman on drums. They will be promoting their newly released first album, ‘We’ll Make Them Like New,’ with catchy melodies and an energetic live performance. On Sunday, some more gentle afternoon jazz is on offer as saxophonist and popular Fine Music Radio presenter Mike Laatz plays The Bread Cafe at The Bromwell (250 Albert Road,Woodstock) The Bromwell is Cape Town’s first boutique mall featuring quaint concept stores ranging from art galleries, to decor to accessories.
