The Exclusive Books Winter Sale 2010 offers stacks of reads at low prices to get book lovers scoring this winter.
The sale starts on Thursday July 29 when Exclusive Books branches around the country open at 7.30am for eager bookworms.
“We are running the sale a month later than usual because of the soccer – fabulous books at bargain prices are the perfect antidote to a World Cup,” says Rene Brophy, Publicity & Marketing Manager at Exclusive Books.
With hundreds of thousands of quality books on sale, the extensive variety promises that book lovers will be able to overindulge with an average book price of R54, offering excellent value for money, with discounts of up to 75% off the normal retail price.
“With 182000kgs of top quality books in 7000 boxes just waiting for the picking – browsing through the sale could be the most fun you’ll have this winter,” adds Brophy.
Expect to see the hottest names in fiction – Dan Brown, Louis Theroux, Paul Kennedy, Richard Yates, Tim Ecott, Minette Walters, Jeffrey Archer, James Patterson, Ian McEwan and John Grisham to name but a few. As always, foodies should love the cookery books offering tasty treats from around the world to our President’s favourite dishes.
The spirituality, motivation and self-help section is particularly strong this year and one of the fastest growing genres internationally. The sale reflects that interest with inspiring books from the likes of Myles Munroe, Rick Joyner, Donna Otto, Leigh Valentine, Dr. Keith Johnson and Kris Vallotton.
Look forward to a variety of books from Afrikaans authors including Rachelle Greeff, Nico Moolman, Ventra Joubert, Sue van Waart, Karel Schoeman and Maretha Maartens.
Box sets are definitely something to look out for this year, including Rolling Stone Cover to Cover, Mad’s Greatest Artists and Playboy Cover to Cover: The 50’s.
“Stocking up on children’s books has become a focus for many sale-buying customers, so we have made sure that there are brilliant prices in the young reading category and a wide range of interest, educational and age-groups,” says Brophy. Classics include ‘Goosebumps’, ‘Winnie the Pooh’ and ‘Dr. Seuss’ and teens can have feasts of fantasies with a variety of Diana Wynne Jones and Jacqueline Wilson titles.
“We try as best we can to find the perfect books, based on customer feedback and buying patterns from previous sales. Our sales are an expression of our loyal relationship with our customers – we offer them real value for money and in turn we hope they have hours of fun struggling to choose their favourite reads,” Brophy concludes.
